Mafuyu's father, for all intent and purposes- he's even granted her permission to refer to him as such, much to her delight. It's hard to feel safe with an adult, but he is, in her eyes, safety and warmth. Which is hilarious, considering he is a vampire who has definitely done a lot of bloodshed. From the moment he placed that cape on her, she's felt a comfort with Celeste that no other can replicate. This is what the love of a parent should be.

There's a certain shared sorrow in their lives, haunted by mothers with blackened love and the societal pressures put upon them, and suicide. And yet, it haunts them in completely opposite ways. Despite this, Mafuyu feels Aubrey is an incredible friend, and her righteous fury on Mafuyu's behalf within her palace resonates strongly despite Mafuyu's own foggy memories. There's not a lot of people Mafuyu feels she trusts more.

They had a rough start, and maybe sometimes they still clash a bit- but Izou has managed to show his care and his loyal brand of love again and again, and even if he's rougher than what her family would have ever allowed, she sees him as an older brother. He's one of the few people Mafuyu feels comfortable 'scolding', and at the same time she trusts him implicitly even when they disagree. His protectiveness makes her feel incredibly loved.

It's strange, how quickly you can come to love another. Through a gentle understanding, the rush of palaces and the joy of everything inbetween, Mafuyu's fallen for Arven. And in turn, he's grown only more and more protective of her, especially in the wake of her palace. She appreciates it so much, but also feels immensely guilty at how much she's troubled him since the masquerade ball, and would very much like for the world to just let them rest a bit. Please?

The gentle care and protectiveness Yi Sang has shown Mafuyu, to the point of his declaration in her palace being what drew her fragile heart out of hiding, has been more than enough.
