For those who are not canon familiar, Mafuyu can normally access a private pocket dimension inhabited by unique takes on the VOCALOID singers- Miku, Rin & Len, KAITO, MEIKO and Luka. In turn, they can project themselves through her phone as small holograms to interact with her, listen in on things and watch the world if the phone isn't in a bag or pocket. Given her canon point, many if not all of them will be wanting to keep an eye on her, especially as she can no longer visit them due to both her phone's water damage and the constraints of the game setting.

This post is to either consent to or deny the vocaloids eavesdropping and possibly even interjecting, as well as alert anyone to their presence as pieces of Mafuyu's heart manifesting outside of her! Comment below, and comments are not screened.

Just a small opt-in for sheep_game as Sonata constantly has her phone on her. How is it charged? DWBI. By opting in to this, vocaloids on my side account emptysekai can linger in Sonata's pocket or bag to listen in, and possibly be caught since they uh. Glitter a little, let out little fractals of light and also are bad at being particularly quiet. (For being caught, I would prefer we agree on that however when it comes up.)

For context, Sonata has access to a personal pocket dimension, the Empty Sekai. This realm is born from music and her emotions- in this case, her lack thereof and desire to reclaim them. The vocaloids themselves are manifestations of different emotions that she's either repressed or had to shed completely to survive. They are still also separate people, however- even if they are devoted to her by nature. Are they mechanical? WHO KNOWS, they sure sound it but. Magic is weird. The Sekai is never explained. We don't know shit. They Just Are.

I also portray her as having very little sexual desires/initiative of her own so to be honest she's gonna be a bit of a very indulging pillow princess at first. Abilities

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

At a glance, Mafuyu is a girl of fairly average height, with dark purple hair tied up in a ponytail with an orange hairtie adorned with a pale purple bead that resembles a pearl and bright blue eyes. She's polite, humble, friendly and helpful, and combined with her good grades and high athleticism Mafuyu is incredibly popular with other students in her school. She's also a talented musician, being the lyricist and mixer for 25-ji, Nightcord de., an underground music group that hopes to bring happiness to it's listeners while also reaching hard-hitting subjects that many can relate to. No one knows of her actual involvement in this group as she works under the alias "Yuki", but they're popular in their own right.

PERSONALITY

PERFECT

On the surface, and as far as practically the whole world is aware, Mafuyu Asahina is the perfect girl and the perfect daughter. She's polite, friendly, humble, and diligent. She works hard and excels in everything, from academics to athletics to the arts, and everyone considers her to be dependable and reliable. Mafuyu has met everyone's expectations in the past, and will continue to do so, after all.

HOLLOW

When no one is watching, Mafuyu is cold and blunt. By her own opinion, she is devoid of emotion and empathy, and is plagued with apathy... causing her to desperately search for her "true self", given that she abandoned her own desires and thoughts to suit everyone else's standards and desires a long time ago. Her voice is cold and flat, and her face shows no emotion as there is none to show at all, and she doesn't say more than what's needed. While she isn't 'kind', she is honest. The lack of ambition and very little free will also means that she tends to either do as told, or will not think for herself at all- and in the few times she does make her own choice, she doesn't communicate freely.

DEPRESSED

Although she's been pulled back from the brink, Mafuyu is in dire need to rediscover her own emotions and thoughts. Although the rest of her group are keeping her steady, they only discovered something was wrong when she reached her lowest point and retreated to the Empty SEKAI to disappear into it for good, intending on dying there. Though she's willing to let Kaede try and save her, she's made more than one comment on how it must have been easier to be unbothered and alone in regards to others despite the group efforts.

Mafuyu Asahina at a glance comes from a normal, if not well-off background. She's the only child of an upper-middle class family with a stay-at-home mother and a father who works an unspecified job. Mafuyu has only ever had their support and love... but even support can be detrimental if it's twisted. As Mafuyu entered high school and began thinking about her life and future, her parents began to pressure her to reach higher than she actually wanted to. One such instance is when they asked what she wanted to do for a living and, when she replied "nurse", pressured her into becoming a doctor instead and began making plans to aid in this career path instead, making her feel compelled to go along with it despite her own wishes. It's implied this isn't the first or last time they did this to her as well, and coupled with how her classmates often relied on her and talked her up, everything began to mount until she gave up being her own self and instead acted to suit others.

Greatest Strength: Mafuyu is a brilliant student academically and athletically, and she shows talent in all of the arts- from music to art, she was able to run a music account on her own with just as much if not more followers than her actual group while doing the same things that take a team of four. She's largely considered good at everything.

Greatest Weakness: Mafuyu has spent her whole life being so thoroughly suffocated by others that she is in a constant state of depressive dissociation and cannot connect to her own emotions. When she does feel things, she struggles to identify them, and she tends to go with what others tell her to do- it's been pointed out that she struggles to think for herself, even.
